ANALYTICAL RESOURCES

We currently have an LC-DAD-QToF-MS and a GC-MS which we make available to our collaborators free of charge. However, consumables and maintenance for these machines are pricey and we request solvents, gasses, filters, columns, and any necessary supplies be made available for the analysis. We also split the costs of any maintenance among users. Only trained lab members independently operate the equipment. If you would like to to have samples analyzed, you can be trained and upon satisfactory performance, may schedule equipment use. Otherwise, we may be able to run samples in a collaborative effort when time and resources permit. If you have been trained and approved to use any of the machines you can log in and book your analysis using the link at the bottom of this page.

FRUIT & VEGETABLES

The Fruit and Vegetable research area in the Food Science and Technology Graduate Program is lead by Dr. Cesar Rombaldi. Most of our research efforts are associated with a macro project (COCEPE UFPel #5.07.00.049) entitled "Biochemical, molecular, and technological aspects of nutritional, sensory, and functional quality attributes in fruit and vegetables".

We collaborate with scientists and researchers from differents fields and various institutes in Brazil and abroad. Our research efforts are targeted towards overcoming food production challenges to yield high-quality, healthy food products.
